Low Caffeine Matcha (Decaf Matcha) by Marukyu Koyamaen is a premium Japanese matcha produced using a patented decaffeination process that reduces caffeine content by approximately 80%, while preserving the authentic taste and appearance of traditional matcha.

Unlike conventional decaffeinated teas, this Decaf Matcha maintains its vivid green color, refined umami, and gentle natural sweetness, offering a smooth and balanced flavor without the strong stimulating effect typically associated with matcha.

This innovative method reflects Marukyu Koyamaen’s centuries-old craftsmanship combined with modern tea technology, allowing matcha lovers and tea practitioners to enjoy matcha at any time of day, including evenings or moments of calm.

Ideal for traditional preparation, matcha lattes, and culinary applications, this Low Caffeine Matcha delivers the essence of Japanese matcha culture in a gentler, more approachable form.

How to Store Matcha for Freshness:

To preserve the delicate flavor of matcha, proper storage is essential.

  • Once opened, transfer the tea to an airtight container (such as a ziplock bag) and keep it in the refrigerator.

  • If you don’t plan to use it soon, freezing is highly recommended. Matcha does not solidify in the freezer, so there are no problems storing it this way.

  • Avoid room temperature storage, as the tea will lose its freshness quickly.

Marukyu Koyamaen matcha typically has a shelf life of 6–7 months, and we ship freshly ground matcha within 2 weeks of production to ensure the best flavor.
