Shigaraki Ware
Shigaraki Ware (Shigaraki-yaki) is a traditional Japanese pottery style from Shiga Prefecture, with a history of over 1,000 years. It is known as one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, famous for its natural, rustic beauty.
Made from local clay rich in feldspar, Shigaraki pieces have a warm, earthy texture and unique color variations created during wood-firing. This natural look reflects the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic—appreciating simplicity and imperfection.
Shigaraki pottery is widely used for tea bowls, tableware, vases, and everyday items. Each piece carries the charm of traditional craftsmanship and the quiet beauty of Japanese ceramics.
