Wa-Kei-Sei-Jaku Calligraphy Print with Rikyu Illustration By Daidō Oshō (Yoshihiro Nishigaki)

Regular price $25.00

This shikishi features a printed calligraphy of “Wa-Kei-Sei-Jaku” (和敬清寂) by Daidō Oshō (Yoshihiro Nishigaki), accompanied by an illustration of Sen no Rikyu.

“Wa-Kei-Sei-Jaku” — meaning Harmony, Respect, Purity, and Tranquility — represents the four fundamental principles of the Japanese tea ceremony. These words express the spiritual foundation of chanoyu and continue to guide tea practitioners today.

The addition of Sen no Rikyu’s illustration honors the tea master who established the aesthetic and philosophical direction of wabi-cha. Together, the calligraphy and imagery create a meaningful piece that reflects the heart of tea practice.

This shikishi is suitable for display in a tea room (tokonoma), study space, or any interior inspired by Japanese culture. As a printed work, it offers an accessible way to bring the spirit of tea into daily life.
