Taishi Kanto | 太子間道
This textile has also been used as the shifuku (silk pouch) for the great meibutsu “Aburaya Katatsuki” chaire (tea caddy). With a texture reminiscent of kasuri (ikat-like patterns), the fabric features a mysterious, repeating motif that resembles human figures. Although it is not a striped pattern, it is known as "Kantou," which likely derives from Guangdong in China. It is also used in the tsuitate (standing screen) at Tokusai san ’s shop.
