This kire is a Shoha interpretation of a textile associated with Seiryō-ji Temple in Saga, Kyoto. The design features vines forming circular medallions that connect a series of floral motifs in a continuous pattern. Seiryō-ji, commonly known as Saga Shakadō, is an ancient temple of the Jōdo (Pure Land) school of Buddhism and has long been revered as one of Kyoto’s historic temples.
