Byōjōshin Kore Dō 平常心是道 Kaishi Rice Paper for Tea Ceremony Chanoyu

Regular price $5.00

This kaishi paper is plain on the inside, allowing it to be used for many occasions.

“Byōjōshin Kore Dō (平常心是道)” is a Zen phrase.

It can be translated as:
“Ordinary mind is the Way.”

This teaching means that the true path is not found in something special or extraordinary, but in our everyday, natural state of mind.
When we are not disturbed by excessive desire, judgment, or attachment, and simply remain calm and present, we are already aligned with the Way.

In the context of tea, it reminds us that the essence of chanoyu is not in formality alone, but in maintaining a sincere, steady, and unpretentious heart in each moment.
