How to Store Matcha for Maximum Freshness:
To enjoy the rich flavor of matcha, proper storage is essential. Once opened, store matcha in an airtight container (such as a ziplock bag) and keep it in the refrigerator. For longer storage, freezing is highly recommended. Matcha does not harden when frozen, so you can use it straight from the freezer without any issues. Avoid keeping matcha at room temperature, as it can quickly lose its freshness.
Our Nara Tea (Marukyu Koyamaen) matcha has a shelf life of 6 to 7 months. We ship only freshly ground matcha—typically within 2 weeks of production—to ensure the best taste and aroma.
