This elegant Three Ginkgo Leaves (Sanmai Icho / 三枚銀杏) futaoki is made in the style favored by Hounsai (鵬雲斎), the 15th-generation Grand Master of the Urasenke tradition of Chanoyu.

The design features three overlapping ginkgo leaves, gracefully arranged to form a sculptural lid rest. The ginkgo (icho) is a familiar motif in Japanese decorative arts, admired for its distinctive fan-shaped leaves and beautiful seasonal character.
