Nambu Ironware Cast Iron Leaf
A charming leaf-shaped cast iron cooking accessory made in Japan using traditional Nambu Ironware (Nambu Tekki) craftsmanship.
Simply place the iron leaf in a pot or kettle while boiling water or cooking. A small amount of iron is released during use, making it an easy way to incorporate iron into everyday cooking.
It can also be used in traditional Japanese cooking. Add it when preparing kuromame (simmered black soybeans) to help develop their characteristic deep color and glossy appearance—especially useful when making this classic dish for Japanese New Year celebrations.
It may also be used when making certain Japanese pickles to help enhance and maintain their color.
The compact leaf shape makes it both practical and attractive, and it can be used repeatedly with proper care.
