Tosa Ginger Wasanbon Sweets for Chanoyu Chado

Kashoto Wasanbon – Tosa Ginger

In times when sugar was a precious commodity, wasanbon was considered a luxury enjoyed only by a limited few. Even today, compared to common sugars, wasanbon remains a premium and refined sweetener.

“Kashoto,” now renewed with updated packaging and wooden molds, reflects both tradition and modern design.
The molds are inspired by the satsuki flower, the official flower of Marugame City, and sugarcane, the raw ingredient of wasanbon.

“Kashoto – Tosa Ginger” features a gentle sweetness followed by a subtle, pleasant spiciness of ginger that becomes wonderfully addictive.

Enjoy each piece as a small, soothing moment of indulgence.

What is Wasambon?
Wasambon is a rare, fine-grained sugar from Tokushima and Kagawa in Japan, artisan-crafted for over 200 years. Made using traditional techniques passed down through generations, its delicate sweetness and smooth texture make it a prized ingredient in wagashi—elegant confections served in Japanese tea ceremonies to perfectly complement matcha.
