Mishima | Floral Patterns

Mishima floral patterns are a modern adaptation of traditional Mishima tea bowl designs, featuring intricate motifs inspired by Jōmon, floral patterns, and Mishima City. Jibei Kiln traces its roots to the renowned artisan Jibei, selected by Furuta Oribe, and has been producing sencha tea utensils in Kyoto’s Gojōzaka since the Meiji era. Today, the kiln incorporates seal engraving techniques and diverse glaze expressions in its creations. The subdued glaze enhances the unique texture, while the delicate Kyoto-style inka patterns harmonize beautifully with the vessel’s form. The refined Mishima patterns make it a versatile piece, suitable for both Eastern and Western settings.
