Crafted by Touan, a Kyoto-based kiln founded in 1922, this piece features their original glaze technique known as Hoshi-kesshō (Star Crystal).

The delicate star-like crystalline patterns that appear on the surface are naturally formed during firing, as the glaze components crystallize under specific conditions. The result is a shimmering, sharp brilliance that shifts with the angle of light, offering a sense of depth and mystery. Compared to Hana-kesshō ("Flower Crystal"), which is also a type of crystal glaze, Star Crystal is characterized by a more angular, radiant appearance.

The soft, hand-crafted curves and spouted design make it easy to pour and highly functional—perfect not only for casual tea gatherings or matcha practice but also for formal tea ceremonies.
