This exceptionally fine kobukusa for use with a Chitose-bon tray is crafted by Kitamura Tokusai Fukusa, a renowned Kyoto workshop known for its exquisite tea ceremony textiles.

Featuring the elegant Shippo Setsugekka (Seven Treasures, Snow, Moon, and Flowers) brocade favored by Tantansai, this kobukusa reflects the refined aesthetics and craftsmanship associated with the Japanese tea tradition.

Please note that this kobukusa is specially sized for use with a Chitose-bon tray and differs from the dimensions of a standard kobukusa.

Kitamura Tokusai is Japan’s only specialized maker of fukusa (ceremonial silk cloths) for tea ceremony. Established in 1712 (Shōtoku 2) in Kyoto’s Nishijin district, the workshop has been producing fine tea utensils for over 300 years, preserving the elegance and spirit of traditional craftsmanship.
