This is an assortment of wasanbon sweets made with fine wasanbon sugar, a traditional specialty of Sanuki, Kagawa.

Chestnuts, mushrooms, squirrels, and acorns—many autumn motifs appear in this story, drawn with a touch of humor. Reading it again, one can almost recall the childhood memory of filling pockets with acorns to take home.
