Yuzen is a traditional Japanese hand-dyeing technique from Kyoto, known for its elegant, hand-painted patterns and vibrant colors created through a meticulous resist-dyeing process.
About Kitamura Tokusai
Tokusai Kitamura is the 9th-generation master artisan of the Kitamura family, a long-established maker of fukusa (silk cloths used in the Japanese tea ceremony) based in Kyoto.
He has been officially licensed by the Urasenke Grand Tea Master, and continues the family’s distinguished legacy of creating fine silk accessories used in tea ceremony practice.
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, reflecting the elegance, harmony, and spirit of Kyoto’s traditional craftsmanship.
