The Chitose-bon is a tray designed for the Chitose-bon tea ceremony, originally created by the wife of the 14th Urasenke Grand Master, Daitansai, to celebrate his 60th birthday.
The underside of the lid features makie of ginkgo leaves along with the kanji characters for "Konnichi" (今日). Although traditionally used in tea ceremony, the Chitose-bon can also be enjoyed in daily life as a serving tray for tea or sweets, or as a beautiful display piece to bring a touch of Japanese elegance into your home.
