The mat is finished on all four sides with an elegant White Mon (白紋) tatami border, creating a distinguished and formal presentation well suited to a Tokonoma.

With its traditional Japanese craftsmanship and understated elegance, this 置き畳 can be placed directly in a Tokonoma to create a refined setting for displaying hanging scrolls, flower arrangements, incense utensils, and other seasonal or ceremonial objects.
