This handcrafted Kuro Raku (Black Raku) matcha bowl by Sasaki Shoraku of Shoraku Kiln features a distinctive Mount Fuji motif accented with kazu-jirushi (numeral marks).

The deep, lustrous black glaze characteristic of Kuro Raku provides a beautiful contrast to the vivid green of freshly whisked matcha. Its hand-shaped form and subtle variations in the glaze give each bowl an individual character, reflecting the warmth and expressive simplicity associated with Raku ware.
