Distributeur Kyo Ware Kiyomizu Ware

A Kyo-yaki / Kiyomizu-yaki matcha bowl crafted by Toru Ogura, depicting a classic early-spring scene of swallows flying gracefully beneath the fresh green branches of a willow tree swaying in the breeze.

Formed in the warm Gohon-de style clay, the design is painted in raised overglaze enamels, giving it a lively texture.
In Japanese tradition, the willow symbolizes the budding of spring, while the swallow—considered an auspicious bird since ancient times—heralds the arrival of the season. Swallows are also believed to bring good fortune when nesting under the eaves, making this a motif of prosperity and welcome.
