Banreki Shokko Nishiki | 萬歴蜀江錦

One type of meibutsugire (famous patterned textile). It features intricate designs using many colored threads, including the Shokko pattern and depictions of the Blue Dragon and White Dragon within circular motifs. "Banreki" refers to the Ming era (1573–1619) of the Ming dynasty in China, a period that produced many renowned "meibutsugire" textiles.

Kitamura Tokusai is Japan’s only specialized maker of fukusa (ceremonial silk cloths) for tea ceremony. Established in 1712 (Shōtoku 2) in Kyoto’s Nishijin district, the workshop has been producing fine tea utensils for over 300 years, preserving the elegance and spirit of traditional craftsmanship.
